At Bloomberg Industry Group, our mission is simple: solve our customers' biggest problems with technical solutions to manage, and grow there businesses. Every solution we build exists to tackle the challenges that matter most to our customers who depend on us; performance sensitive, computation heavy products at scale, where every millisecond translates into customer impact.
We're looking for a Technical Architect Lead to own the vision across our Fixed Assets Product line and lead a team of engineers obsessed with solving hard problems. You'll set the technical direction, make bold high-impact calls, mentor engineers who raise the bar for everyone around them, and lead the charge on Generative AI; bringing the tooling that transforms how we design, build, test, and ship, so your teams deliver customer solutions dramatically faster.
No ivory-tower architects here. You'll live in the code, tackle the hardest problems alongside your team, and ground every decision in real constraints, cost, and the value it creates for customers. If you want your fingerprints on the products that solve enterprise customers' biggest problems at scale; this is where you do it.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide hands on technical leadership and guidance, influencing engineering teams on design best practices, solution trade-offs, and implementation strategies.
- Set end-to-end technical direction, which includes technology choices, architectural patterns, and infrastructure strategy.
- Lead and develop people. Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers; conduct 1:1s, support career development, set expectations, and foster a culture of technical excellence and ownership.
- Cultivate a culture of ownership, experimentation, continuous improvement, and AI-augmented engineering.
- Lead the modernization of legacy applications and data platforms into a cloud native AWS environment.
- Integrate AI-assisted development practices into engineering workflows, including tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
- Promote AI-driven automation such as test generation, code refactoring, dependency analysis, and large-scale codebase exploration.
- Partner broadly with product, engineering leadership, and stakeholders to align technical delivery with business objectives, and to ensure technologies are deployed and utilized appropriately across INDG's domains.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, software engineering, and technical writing or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in software development or commensurate skills
- Hands-on experience managing and developing high-performing engineering teams.
- Proficient with C#/.NET, building distributed, scalable systems in production environments.
- Full-stack expertise, including React, TypeScript, Node.js, and modern web application frameworks.
- Strong AWS background with serverless, event-driven, and managed-services expertise.
- Extensive background in API design and integration, championing API-first development.
- A practitioner who is an evangelist for AI-Native Software Development that has incorporated it into their workflow to accelerate productivity, with real examples of the impact.
- Strong understanding of architectural trade-offs, system complexity, and cost optimization in cloud environments.
- Demonstrated experience with modern architectures: Microservices, SOA, Event-Driven, Micro-frontend, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Proven track record of working across the full software development lifecycle, including design patterns, code reviews, testing, release management, and operations.
- Experience leading large-scale modernization or cloud-transformation programs is a plus.
