Overview
The Human Resources Coordinator provides support for the day-to-day administration of human resources programs and processes throughout the employee lifecycle. This position serves as a resource to employees, managers, and field operations and assists with recruiting, onboarding, employee records, benefits, HRIS administration, employee relations, compliance, and offboarding.
The HR Coordinator is responsible for coordinating new hire onboarding, conducting monthly new hire orientation, supporting the termination process, monitoring motor vehicle record (MVR) alerts, and maintaining accurate employee records. This position also provides administrative support to the HR team and assists with HR initiatives and projects as needed.

Responsibilities
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate and administer all aspects of the new hire onboarding process, including offer acceptance follow-up, pre-employment requirements, background checks, drug screens, motor vehicle record (MVR) checks, I-9 completion, new hire paperwork, HRIS setup, and coordination with Payroll, IT, Safety, and Operations.
- Prepare new hire files and ensure required employment documentation is complete and maintained in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
- Conduct monthly new hire orientation sessions and ensure completion of all onboarding requirements and compliance documentation.
- Monitor MVR alerts and driving records for employees operating company vehicles; notify management of violations, license suspensions, or other compliance concerns and maintain required documentation.
- Assist with employee benefits administration, including enrollments, status changes, qualifying life events, and terminations of coverage.
- Maintain accurate and timely employee information in the HRIS, including new hires, status changes, transfers, terminations, personal information changes, and other employee transactions.
- Coordinate and support the employee termination and offboarding process, including required documentation, system updates, benefit notifications, equipment/access coordination, and communication with appropriate departments.
- Maintain personnel files, HR records, and electronic employee data in accordance with company policy and retention requirements.
- Respond to employee questions and requests regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, onboarding, and other employment-related matters, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other HR-related documents as requested.
- Support field and project management teams with workforce compliance documentation and onboarding requirements for jobsite access.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and company employment requirements.
- Assist with employee relations matters by gathering documentation and maintaining confidential records.
- Coordinate employee recognition, engagement, and wellness initiatives as assigned.
- Assist with audits and requests related to personnel records, benefits, payroll, safety, and compliance documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information and exercise appropriate judgment when handling sensitive HR matters.
- Support special HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-year experience in HR position
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel
- AA or AS degree in business related course of work
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
- Ability to work effectively with employees and managers at both corporate and construction jobsite locations.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
