About the role:
The Director of Construction is responsible for overseeing the execution and operational performance of Renovo’s construction projects. This role provides strategic leadership to Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the VP of Construction, the Director drives operational excellence, strengthens project execution, and implements process improvements that support Renovo’s continued growth and success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers to build a high-performing organization.
- Foster a culture centered on accountability, collaboration, safety, quality, and exceptional client service.
- Partner with the People team on recruiting, onboarding and performance management.
- Establish best practices and standardized operating procedures across the organization.
- Provide oversight for all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations.
- Monitor project performance, proactively identifying risks and implementing solutions to mitigate schedule, budget, or quality impacts.
- Oversee project staffing and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects.
- Review project financials, schedules, forecasts, change orders, and cost reports to ensure overall portfolio health.
- Partner with Project Managers to resolve complex project challenges and support successful project execution.
- Lead weekly operational meetings with Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
- Continuously improve construction processes, reporting and communication.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, etc.

Technical Skills:
- 7-10 years of construction experience in Retail with a General Contractor.
- 5 years of experience managing Project Managers and Site Superintendent experience in Retail fit-out and ground up construction.
- Proficient in reading and understanding Architectural, Structural, Civil and MEP plans.
- Experience with Procore or a similar Project Management software.
The expected salary range for this position is between $175,000 and $200,000. The actual compensation will be based on factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, market and business considerations and other factors permitted by law.
